Buster Charters operates out of beautiful Jefferson Beach
Marina on the Michigan eastern shore of Lake St. Clair. Jefferson
Beach Marina is only 30 minutes from Windsor and Detroit.
Captain Gary is a US Coast Guard licensed Captain. The Fish
Buster IV is a 30ft Searay that is Michigan DNR and US Coast
Guard inspected. She has all the latest electronics and equipment
for your party to have an enjoyable day.
Lake St Clair is the hub of many of Michigan's trophy game-fish
including; Musky, Walleye, Smallmouth Bass and Perch.
Lake St Clair is known as the "Musky Capital of the World"
and is also home to many Musky tournaments.
Fish Buster Charters primarily targets Lake St Clair Musky.
The Musky season on Lake St. Clair opens the first Saturday
of June. Captain Gary’s preferred method of fishing
for musky is trolling in the 13 to 18 foot depths along the
shores of Lake St. Clair. Captain Gary uses large musky plugs
and spinners and trolls at speeds up to 4 miles per hour with
boat rods and planner board rods. To catch unsuspecting trophy
musky, Captain Gary adds 1 to 3 ounce in-line weights with
5 ft. leaders back 20 to 40 feet behind the boards. According
to the fisherman that have fished with Captain Gary, “the
most exciting way to catch an aggressive musky is close to
the boat in the prop wash.” To get into these productive
musky catching zones behind the boat Captain Gary adds 3 to
12 ounce in-line weights with 5 ft. leaders and stiff heavy
action fishing rods pointed into the water.
